Fibreglass Roofing

Fibreglass Roofing is one of the most common methods for flat roofing on the UK and Irish market today.

Fibreglass Roofing offers superior advantages over traditional roofing systems such as Felt Torch on Roofing which requires potentially dangerous heated equipment. Fibreglass Roofing systems are applied cold which reduces the risks of on-site accidents. It is also extremely lightweight yet durable which avoids undue pressure on the structure of the building, in comparison to concrete roofing systems this is a big advantage.

What we offer….

GRP Roofing Trims

Roofing Trims are a decorative and often necessary way to finish off a fibreglass roofing project.  Each trim that we sell serves a different purpose e.g. Drip Trims will help rainwater to flow into the gutters whilst Raised Edge Roofing Trims will prevent water run-off.

All the trims provided by FibreGlassDirect are Grey in colour and available as 1.5 metre lengths, 3 metre lengths or corner pieces.

Roofing Resin

We recommend two polyester resins in particular for Fibreglass Roofing projects – ‘Lloyds Approved Resin’ or ‘Flexible Roofing Resin’.

‘Lloyds Approved Resin’ is registered by Lloyds and has undergone rigorous testing to meet its approval. It is a great multipurpose resin which can be used in fibreglass roof builds and repairs. We provide this resin as part of our ‘Low-Cost Roofing Kits’.

Our ‘Flexible Roofing Resin’ contains additives which gives a fibreglass roof extra flexibility. This is to aid thermal expansion of the roof. This resin is included as part of our ‘Premium Roofing Kits’.

Roofing Topcoat

Roofing Topcoat is available as either ‘Standard’ or ‘Fire Retardant’. Our Standard Roofing Topcoat is available in either a light or dark grey colour. This is provided with our Low-Cost Fibreglass Roofing Kits.

Alternatively, we provide a Fire Retardant Roofing Topcoat in a dark grey finish. We include this as standard with our Premium Fibreglass Roofing Kits. We would recommend this for use in domestic applications.

Fibreglass Chopped Strand Mat

For most standard roofing applications we offer 450g chopped strand matting. This can be increased to 600g for roofs which will expect heavier footfall or 900g for extra heavy duty such as balconies or walkways.
